Renewable Energies

Renewable Energies

Renewable energy refers to energy sources that naturally replenish themselves. Unlike fossil fuels such as coal, oil, or natural gas, renewable energy sources are not finite and are sustainably harvested, contributing to the reduction of CO~2~ emissions. According to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, renewable energy has become one of the most important power sources in Germany. Its expansion is a central pillar of the energy transition, aimed at ensuring energy independence from fossil fuel imports. By 2030, at least 80% of electricity consumption is expected to be covered by renewable energy. The primary forms of renewable energy in Germany are wind and solar power, as well as biomass and hydropower.

The building sector accounts for around 38% of energy consumption in Europe. Sustainability in building operations is therefore a critical and strategic decision for property owners and asset managers. ESG criteria increasingly influence the value stability and development of commercial properties. The aedifion software solution facilitates the decarbonization of commercial buildings by optimizing technical building systems. With an easy plug-and-play solution, all building data is transferred in real-time to the cloud platform. Based on this data, AI-driven actionable optimization proposals are generated.
