The EU member states have set themselves the goal of becoming the first continent to become climate-neutral. The Green Deal is intended to create the transition to a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy. The clearly defined goals are to emit no more net greenhouse gases by 2050 and to decouple economic growth from resource use.
