Adaptive Heating Networks

Adaptive Heating Networks

Adaptive heating networks are an innovative concept in sustainable energy supply. These networks are divided into different temperature and pressure levels, characterized by their high adaptability to fluctuating energy sources and demands. The heat supply and extraction are flexibly and decentrally controllable depending on the supply temperature of each level. Heat exchangers and heat pumps or transformers enable the exchange between levels. The modular structure of adaptive heating networks offers significant potential for standardization in both planning and operation. Additionally, the decentralized heat supply provides interfaces for integrating other renewable energy sources such as geothermal, solar thermal, or waste heat. Heat energy can also typically be stored, reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

In combination with self-learning building automation, adaptive heating networks help improve energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. With aedifion.controls, the algorithm for adaptive room control learns, for example, the time required for a system to heat up or cool down, continuously optimizing the schedule. This can lead to immediate savings of up to 6 percent, while also significantly enhancing the comfort of building occupants.
