Mapping

Mapping

In the context of building operations, the term "mapping" refers to the process of assigning information, data or functions to specific components of a building. The goal of these mappings or connections is to provide a comprehensive and systematic representation. In a room mapping, information is assigned to specific rooms in the building. For example, parameters such as usage, dimensions or equipment and functions are recorded. Within plant mapping, plant systems are recorded and documented, but data flows and processes can also be transferred into a mapping, thus enabling the monitoring and optimization of operational processes. Within the aedifion solutions, mapping refers to the process of individualizing connected components. The data points generated in this way are placed in the context of the entire building, which is also referred to as a project. The data points are represented as so-called pins, which in turn can be specified by tags. Comprehensive mapping allows more effective decisions to be made and enables more efficient building operation.
