Room control

Room control

The term room control refers to the targeted control of different parameters in a room. The aim is to create an optimal room climate or environment for the respective users through central control. The lighting level is also an environmental factor that is to be optimized for the users via room control. In the best case, smart room control also benefits the energy efficiency of a building. The prerequisite for room control is the use of technologies and components such as sensors, automation systems or even smart IoT devices to record factors such as temperature, air quality and lighting conditions and regulate them as needed.

Room panels, for example, are room control units that allow users to conveniently operate the existing systems themselves. In large functional buildings, room control ideally takes place via a central dashboard on which all the necessary data is available in real time. Viewing is usually also possible remotely via app, so that data can be accessed anywhere and at any time. AI-based room control in a building automation system can provide self-learning and autonomous cost savings.
