Digital building assistant

Digital building assistant

A digital building assistant is an intelligent system based on generative AI designed to optimize the operational efficiency of buildings. It leverages technologies like Large Language Models (LLM) and Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLM) to respond to user queries and generate automated, data-driven recommendations for action. Digital building assistants can process both written and spoken inputs and have the ability to combine information from various data sources, such as technical documentation, building plans, or sensor data from the facility.

In building operations, the digital building assistant is used to improve various aspects of system operation. For example, a facility manager might ask the assistant in the form of a prompt, "What is the current energy consumption of the heating system?" The AI system analyzes the query, retrieves the relevant data from the building, and generates an accurate response. Additionally, the assistant can offer suggestions upon request, such as identifying inefficient operating states or recommending appropriate actions to address inefficiencies in individual systems.
