EU Taxonomy Regulation

EU Taxonomy Regulation

The taxonomy is a system for classifying sustainable economic activities that is valid throughout the EU. It is intended to create incentives for investors to transform energy production and the economy in a low-emission and resource-conserving manner. The EU Taxonomy Regulation aims at the transition to a climate-neutral economy and supports the EU in achieving environmental goals under the Paris Climate Agreement. It was developed as part of the EU's Sustainable Growth Financing Action Plan and adopted in June 2020. Investments in sustainable projects will be facilitated by the regulation. It sets criteria for determining the contribution to climate targets, which also makes greenwashing more difficult. For building operators, the EU Taxonomy Regulation is a challenging piece of regulation. Buildings are one of the sectors covered by the regulation. The aedifion cloud platform provides operators with all the necessary levers to save energy, decarbonize buildings and achieve ESG targets faster.
